Karen Staddon- our Bristol Service Centre Manager is raising money for ‘Stand up to Cancer’ by challenging herself with the ‘Stand Up to Cancer Walkies Challenge’. The challenge is to walk a minimum of 2 miles every day with your furry friend.
Almost everyone knows someone who unfortunately has Cancer, with 1 in 2 people born after 1960 being diagnosed with some form of cancer. These are horrific statistics and we need to do everything we can to help research in to finding cures for these different types of cancer.
This charity has touched Karen’s heart as she lost loved ones to this awful disease and currently has loved ones that are fighting it. This walk is in honour of her loved ones that are no longer here with us, and the ones that are currently fighting it.
Stand Up to Cancer speeds up life-saving cancer research by taking developments in the lab and accelerating them into new tests and treatments for cancer patients who need them. They have set themselves an ambitious target to ensure 3 in 4 people in the UK survive their cancer by 2034. You can read more about what they do here: Stand Up To Cancer | Speed up life-saving research
South West Hygiene is supporting Karen in her challenge and we encourage you to help with this fantastic cause by donating on Karen’s Just Giving page:
